SHORT DESCRIPTION

As the Director of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Studies Program entitled “Applications of Biomedical Technology in Infertility – Male and Female Factor” of the University of West Attica (UniWA), I have the honour to welcome you to the Program and its website.

The Postgraduate Studies Program is the result of the collaboration of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and the Department of Midwifery of the School of Health and Care Sciences of the University of West Attica.

The Postgraduate Studies Program came to cover the leapfrog development of Biomedical Technology applied to Infertility, where the continuous and in-depth Lifelong Learning and Training, based on the modern and newest knowledge of the Biotechnological Revolution, became mandatory in the Health Sector.

Target Audience

  • Health Professionals of Public and Private Sector.
  • Specialized Scientific Staff or any graduate who is employed or wish to be employed in Assisted Reproduction Centers
  • Acquire theoretical knowledge and specialized skills in the application of Biomedical Technology in Infertility.

WHY SHOULD I PREFER IT ?

The graduates of the Postgraduate Program will be able to:

  • analyze complex health problems and formulate innovative strategies, design research protocols and their implementation plans, promote their implementation, thus increasing the social benefit and reducing the cost of the laboratory approach to infertility,
  • evaluate data and modern technologies and formulate alternative evidence-based policy proposals, with the aim of providing quality and high-performance laboratory results related to infertility,
  • provide documented support to an Assisted Reproduction Center, in terms of design and implementation, as well as in terms of monitoring and continuous improvement of the relevant laboratory protocols,
  • carry out cutting-edge research projects, in order to support the upgrade efforts of the Assisted Reproduction Centers and therefore to improve their competitiveness,

Teaching hours Friday and Saturday

Theoretical courses and workshops are taught Friday 17:00-21:00 and Saturday 11:00-15:00 for the 1st and 2nd semesters of studies.
In the 3rd semester, specialized seminars on lifestyle and infertility are taught every Friday 17:00-21:00.
