Dr. Antigoni Sarantaki, completed her Bachelor of Science at Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece-Department of Midwifery and completed her Master of Science from University of Surrey, School of Health Sciences, at Guildford, United Kingdom. She achieved her Ph.D. From Dept. of Medicine (Sector of Social Medicine-Psychiatry and Neurology), School of Health Sciences, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, 06/2016. Doctoral Thesis: “Study of family relationships and psycho-emotional development of children born after assisted reproduction” Her research and teaching focuses on women’s mental health, pregnancy & labour, infertility, assisted reproduction, family dynamics, semiology.

The focus of her current research interests includes perinatal care and counseling for women with physical and/or mental impairments.

Over the course of her academic career, Dr Sarantaki has published a number of original articles and reviews, in addition to overseeing and editing several undergraduate & post-graduate studies and manuscripts. Her specific fields of academic interest, include disability and pregnancy, maternal infant health issues, infertility, family dynamics.

She is a member of several professional societies, including Hellenic Midwives Association, European Midwives Association & International Midwives Association.

Current Research Lines: Transition to motherhood for women with disability, male and female infertility related physical, social and mental disorders, family dynamics, parenting.
