This course is a specialization course that aims to provide the student with the knowledge to understand and manage clinical and psychological issues related to infertility and assisted reproduction and to provide them with the skill and ability to assess the clinical and mental health of infertile patients. The main objective of the course is to equip students with knowledge, clinical and cognitive skills and abilities to be able to assess the clinical health and recognize the mental and emotional health problems of infertile patients in order to contribute to their timely treatment and prompt referral of conditions to specialist health professionals.

After the end of the course students will be able to:

  • They have acquired knowledge regarding the condition of infertility, its etiology as well as methods of assisted reproduction.
  • Recognize the emotional and psychological needs of infertile patients and develop skills to provide psychological and emotional support to women experiencing infertility and undergoing assisted reproduction.
  • Develop communication and management skills for infertile women undergoing assisted reproduction to inform them and ensure informed choice on the part of these women.
  • Collaborate responsibly with other health professionals (eg mental health professionals) and be an active and functional member of a multidisciplinary team in the recognition, referral and management of reproductive health and fertility abnormalities and problems.
